1. Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC)

Sree Nataraja Residential First Grade College for Women has begun its effort to go in for  accreditation in 2015-16 and has come a long way in terms of quality aspects. IQAC is effective and efficient as internal coordinating and monitoring mechanism.

IQAC plays significant role in development by accommodative and reciprocate methods to improve the academic strata both qualitative and quantitative.

The institution has prepared a perspective plan since 2015-16 to 2017-18 as per criteria of NAAC. While preparing plan IQAC has taken various measures to incorporate vision-mission  of the institution. In this venture the college decides effective and proficiency of the teaching faculty to enrich and excel the students through well designed programs like classroom teaching, power point presentation, project works, feedback mechanism, extensive activities and sports.

   The Mission of IQAC

To Provide quality education through effective method of teaching by engaging the suitable faculty.

To develop courage, confidence and competitiveness among the students in the changing global scenario.

To stimulate the most conducive ambience for the promotion of quality in teaching and learning.

2. Placement Cell (Training and Development) (JeevanVruksha)

Equipping the students with relevant and conceptualized professional skills and guiding them towards a bright future and career the values of – ‘Sincerity’, ‘Hard Work’ and ‘Ethics’.

3. Student Personnel Counselling Cell (Sakhi)

To meet the adolescences problems and to provide proper guidance for their need in our institution, we established “Student Personnel Counselling Cell (Sakhi)” in our campus. This cell is providing counselling for students twice in a week .i.e., om Monday and Tuesday by trained faculties.

We provide personal counselling for individuals or couples to help with problems such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Relationship issues
  • Loneliness and isolation
  • Addictive behaviours
  • Sexuality and sexual identity
  • Eating and body image problems
  • Homesickness and difficulty adjusting to the institution.

Counselling sessions take place in a private room with a counsellor and either an individual or a couple.

When you begin counselling, you may feel anxious, shy, self-conscious, or weak. Counsellors understand that it’s normal to feel uncomfortable and cautious during the first meeting. We’ll create an accepting, low-pressure environment.

As your counselling progresses, you will begin to feel more comfortable. You’ll also begin to understand your feelings and the root causes of your problems. Your current concerns may prompt you to discover new ways of expressing your feelings, leading to a greater sense of confidence, peace, and optimism.

a. NSS

NSS is a dream child of Mahatma Gandhi where students get a chance to connect with the community and learn or  benefited the following things:

    •             Understanding the community, Social awareness and social welfare, group living.
    •             It helps to develop Life skills, self-confidence, motivation, leadership quality.
    •             Environment enrichment and conservation
    •            Awareness programmes
    •            Swatch barath activities
    •            Socio and economic surveys
    •            It practices national integrity and social harmony
    •            Students must enroll two years’ volunteer ship and attend one special camp.

Benefits

    • Different level camps like district, university, state, national, international, youth festivals, republic day parade state and national, adventures camps, special camps,
    • Volunteer can apply for the awards like university, state, national
    • Students can get NSS reserved seats in their higher education and in few kpsc jobs also
    • NSS students can get easily jobs at private NGOs

b. Youth Red Cross

Youth Red Cross aims: Youths ideals and practice of service specially in relation to

  • Taking care of their own health and others
  • Understanding the responsibilities of the society
  • Promotion of national and international goodwill and understanding
  • Promotion of volunteerism
  • Motivation of blood donors
  • Volunteers can make internship
  • Training on first aid
  • Training on different skills
  • Volunteers can get valuable certificate which helps their future
  • Awareness programs

c. Adventure & ECO Club (Nesara)

  • Motivate the students to keep their surroundings green and clean by undertaking plantation of trees.
  • Promote ethos of conservation of water by minimizing the use of water.
  • Organize Nature Trail in Wild Life Sanctuaries/Parks/Forest areas to know about the Bio-diversity
  • To create awareness of biodiversity conservation and local environmental issues among students.
  • To create a ‘clean and green consciousness’ among students through various innovative methods.
  • To involve Eco Club students in open-orientation programmes in institutions and public areas.

d. Women Empowerment & Prevention of Sexual Harassment Cell (Chaithanya)

Objectives

  • Identification of strong leadership and building their capacity
  • To promote a culture of respect and equality for female gender
  • To conduct seminar, workshop to impart knowledge of opportunities and tools available and train the women
  • To make them aware about the guidelines of supreme court and to ensure that sexual harassment is treated has an unacceptable social behavior within the institution and the society
  • To promote gender sensitivity

            Agenda

  • The cell is planning to periodically organize varies programs for the benefit of the women folk of the institution.
  • An awareness program on “Health issues of Women for thefemale student”.
  • Seminar and workshop on skill development.

Celebration of international women’s day.

e. Anti- Ragging (Rakshaki)

  • To prohibit any conduct by any student or students weather by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness to a fresher or any other student.
  • Indulging in rowdy or indiscipline activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise tear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student.
  • Asking any student to do any act which such student will not in the ordinary course to do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique or psyche of such fresher or any other student.
  • With or without an intent to derive a sadistic pleasure or showing off power, authority or superiority by a student over any fresher or any other student.

Punishing those who indulge in ragging. As provided for in these regulations and the appropriate law in force.

5. Cultural Committee (Kausthubha)

Sree Nataraja Residential First Grade College for Women has formed Kausthubha the Cultural Committee for extra-curricular activities. Under this committee various programs are organized every year with a focus on providing an opportunity to the students to showcase their innate talents. Their prowess in Indian culture and traditional art forms. Different talent search competitions such as singing, dancing, cooking, drama, easy writing debate, skit, Rangoli competition, Traditional Day, Fun Week etc., arean organized on a regular basis.

After conducting these competitions students get a chance to participate in Inter College Competitions. Our students every year participate in YuvaDasara, YuvaSambarama, DasaraKaviGosti and other programs. One of the students of the college Miss Suma identified as Miss Nataraja has recently made a career in the film industry.

To conduct different cultural activities college has an auditorium which has a seating capacity of 500 students with a dimension of 1.70X60 Sq. ft. and also a seminar hall in the college campus in the 3rd floor of B.com wing. Which can accommodate 200 students.

6. Alumni

Creating an active alumni network is essential to an institution’s development and success. Good alumni relationships bring many benefits both to the institution and to the alumni.

Institution has a special connection with alumni. With their active participation institution is capable of improving the quality of education and overall development of the institution.

Alumni are our most loyal supporters and our best ambassadors, offering invaluable marketing and promotion across their personal and professional networks.

In Our institution alumni association established during the year 2012-13 From the year of establishment and till now association has been actively participated in the academic activities.

The alumni association has conduct meeting twice in a year. First meeting held on beginning of the academic year. And second meeting held on the ending of the academic year.  In its first meeting association chalk out a brief plan and programs to be conducted by the alumni’s and at the second meeting the programs and activities which had been if there any demerits, actions have taken place in the future to correct it.

The alumni association contribute through non-financial mode to the growth and development of the institution. Talented and Rank alumni will likely have a wealth of experience and skills to share with current students via Seminars, Special lectures, Quiz competitions etc. They have also honoring the current students those who are taken and participated actively in the activities conducted by the association.

Alumni also donate their valuable time to offer career support to current   students through career guidance classes.

In this way alumni association of our institution contribute significantly towards the overall growth.  In future days’ institution have many plans to coordinate the association both in financial and non-financial mode.
